What counts as a car lockout
A lockout is any time the keys are inside the car and you are outside it. All of these are the same call:
- The keys are on the seat, in the cup holder, or still in the ignition, and the doors are locked.
- The keys are in the trunk.
- The engine is running with the keys inside.
- The key fob is inside a push-to-start car and the doors will not open.

There is a lot packed inside a car door. The window glass slides down into it. The lock and the latch sit inside it, and power locks and power windows add wiring. On some cars, a side airbag is mounted in the door panel.

- When the technician arrives, we check a photo ID and proof that the car is yours: the registration, insurance card, title, or bill of sale. If the papers are locked inside with the keys, tell us when you call.
- We confirm the final price on-site before any work begins.
- We open the car without damage, and you drive away with your own keys.
